The Church of St. Francis of Assisi is a Franciscan church and monastery located on the edge of All Saints Square in the Old Town district of Krakow.
Originally consecrated in 1269, very little remains of the 13th century building. Having survived several calamaties over the years, the current structure dates mostly from the 15th century.
The Basilica contains a copy of the famous Turin Shroud. This was dedicated by Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in 2003. It is located in the Chapel of the Passion.
The church is also celebrated for murals and stained glass by Stanisław Wyspiański created at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.
