Kampa Island is an oasis of calm amidst the bustle of central Prague. It may be accessed from the western end of the Charles Bridge.
The waterway that separates the island from the Mala Strana was artificially created to power water mills. It is named the Devil's Stream after a particularly sharp tounged local resident who once lived a house called the Seven Devils.
Today, the island hosts a modern art gallery, numerous lanes and open spaces and is close to the John Lennon graffitti wall.
