Museum district

Museumplein

This area of the Museumkwartier neighbourhood is a public space surrounding the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Concertgebouw concert hall.

The three museums have been recently refurbished and the whole area was redesigned in 1999. Highlights include a large pond in front of the Rijksmuseum and large freestanding letters spelling 'I Amsterdam' that are a popular location for photography.

The proximity of the Vondelpark makes the whole area a great place for a stroll.
