Polish Aviation Museum

The Polish Aviation Museum is located on the site of the now unused Kraków Rakowice Czyżyny Airport. The airport was established in 1912 by the AustroHungarian Empire and is one of the oldest in the world.

The airport closed in 1963 and the museum opened the following year.

The collection includes over 200 aircraft with 22 extremely rare aircraft that are particularly significant to the history of German aviation.

Many prewar examples of Polish aviation were destroyed by the occupying forces but the museum has an almost complete collection of aircraft produced or used in Poland since 1945.
