Wenceslas Square

Václavské náměstí

More a long rectangle or a broad promenade than a square, this has long been the centre of cultural and political demonstrations.

You can still see the bullet holes from the Russian invasion of 1968.

The memorial to Jan Palach, who set himself on fire to protest the invasion is at the top end of the square.
